TSU rose in QS BRICS and became the second in internationalization

Consulting company Quacquarelli Symond (QS) has published a ranking of the best universities in the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa). Tomsk State University has risen from 26th to 19th position of this ranking, and in terms of the indicator International students became the second among the strongest universities of the BRICS countries, ahead of most of the eminent universities of China and India.
- For us, this assessment of the University is especially important, because in recent years the BRICS countries have been growing very intensively. And remembering Carroll’s words “If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!” we can summarize: to grow in BRICS, we had to run four times faster, - commented the results of the ranking Eduard Galazhinskiy, TSU Rector. - These countries today are paying great attention to the development of education, the creation of world-class universities, and promotion in rankings. In this sense, our intensive progress suggests that we continue to develop dynamically, and this is the great merit of our entire team.

For TSU, the educational collaboration with BRICS countries, in particular, India and China, is a priority. The high positions of the university in the ranking, which are oriented towards applicants from BRICS countries, will allow the University to attract even more international students.

In the QS BRICS-2019 ranking, Tomsk State University improved its positions in Academic Reputation, Employer reputation, Staff with a Ph.D., and Papers per faculty.
One of the best results of the rating is the second place among the strongest universities of the BRICS countries in terms of the International Students indicator; here TSU improved its last year's result by three points.
At the BRICS Network University, Tomsk State University is responsible for organizing interaction in one of the five subject areas - Ecology and Climate Change. In addition, the University is the coordinator of the Association of Universities of Russia and India.
